Christmas Eve Services
We begin the evening with a ‘Family Friendly’ service at 4:00 P.M. Carols, candles and the story of the Nativity. Join us before your Christmas Eve dinner and the little ones can get snug in their beds on time!
If you prefer a more traditional service of choral music and Holy Communion—then join us at 10:00 P.M. in the sanctuary.
Carols, candles and Holy Communion as we await Christ’s birth on this holy night. The Chancel Choir will repeat some Advent IV anthems, adding “Wexford Carol” by John Rutte. The Chancel Handbell Choir will also paly. The service begins with the prelude at 9:45 P.M. Our service will conclude with candlelight while we sing Silent Night.
Christmas Joy Offering
Each year during the Advent and Christmas season, we turn our eyes to Bethlehem and celebrate the wondrous gift of Jesus Christ, our Savior.
God has blessed the Church with incredible leadership in every time and place, but those leaders often need to be supported by their communities as well. The Christmas Joy Offering addresses the support needed by some of our leaders, including supporting leadership development for communities of color, and providing support for Presbyterian church workers in their time of need.
The Christmas Joy Offering has been a cherished Presbyterian tradition since the 1930s. The Offering distributes gifts equally to the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions and to Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping communities of color. The Assistance Program provides critical financial support to church workers and their families. Presbyterian-related schools and colleges provide education and leadership development while nurturing racial and ethnic heritage. This has been a Presbyterian commitment for nearly 140 years.
Covenant Christmas Offering
In your pew you will also find an offering envelope just for Covenant Church. This offering helps to defray all manner of costs over the holiday season: Advent Festival, Christmas food boxes, Angel Tree gifts, mailing the mittens, etc. Your gifts to the Covenant Christmas Offering are greatly appreciated.
Advent Devotional Booklets
Covenant has two devotional booklets for you and your family to enjoy this Advent season. You can find the booklets on the Welcome Tables—”The Fullness of Time” by Henri Nouwen and a devotional booklet for families, “On the Way to Bethlehem” by Emily Jaminet.
