SEPTEMBER 20th is our ‘grand’ re-opening of classes for all ages. We will still be practicing social distancing, and we will need participants to wear masks during our gathering times.
Adult class on the Sermon on the Mount, 9:30 A.M., preceding our six—week sermon series. Participants will meet in the Covenant Room. We are using a DVD study by Amy Jill Levine, professor of Biblical studies at Vanderbilt University, as we take a detailed look at Matthew, chapters 5—7. This includes some of the best—known scriptures, including the Beatitudes, The Lord’s Prayer, and teachings on the Kingdom of God. Pastor Carol will be leading this series.
Children will begin in worship with parents and then proceed to class following the children’s time (10:45 A.M.), which will also focus on the Beatitudes. We begin our ‘kick-off’ with Godly Play in the Sawtelle Auditorium (more space to spread out!), and then, weather permitting, we will have a time of creative play outdoors. Godly Play is for children age 4 through 2nd grade. We hope to add more classes for grades 3-6 (Kidz Time), and 7-12 (Teen Talk) on September 27th with the participation of older youth.
