It is hard to believe that before too long summer will be upon us. (I know you’re thinking, “Where is SPRING this year?!) But on my calendar, once I flip past the month of April, and we’ve enjoyed a delicious Chicken BBQ this coming Sunday, May 6, can summer be far behind? Of course, summer means special fun memories like trips to the pools and trips to new locations . . . but for the first time in recent history, for Covenant it means Vacation Bible School!
While there’s loads of time for planning and promotion, still I want you to mark your calendars for four exciting days this summer when children can enjoy Vacation Bible School (July 23-26). For those who have memories of such an experience in your childhoods, you know it can be both a powerful faith-building experience for children and families; as well as a powerful outreach to our community. This can be an important time for children connected with Covenant Church and our community to share together in this powerful week of spiritual formation and opportunity to hear the wonderful news of life in Jesus Christ.
As you can imagine, VBS takes a tremendous amount of time and people to pull off. Our theme for VBS 2018 is Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus! Throughout the week, children will hear stories of how Jesus is always with them. It will be a life-changing week through Jesus as kids and volunteers listen and learn through games, crafts, stories, songs, and so much more. Each day is a new and exciting day! How might God be nudging you to help this year with VBS 2018? Would you consider serving during this amazing week? If you have questions speak with Rev. Martha, who is excited to talk with you about how God is already moving through the preparation for VBS 2018
Please keep Pastor Martha, our Christian Education & Fellowship committee members, the children, and all of our children’s ministry servants in your prayers as we gear up for this year’s transformative VBS opportunity! Thanks, Covenant friends, for caring about and loving the children of our church and community!
