Opening Prayer
Spirit of holiness and life, be within our community as we worship this morning. Search within each of us for the sighs too deep for words and make them articulate so that we may share our hopes and fears and bring out of our silence life-changing prayers for ourselves and, in intercession, for all precious, groaning creation. Amen
Prayer of Confession
Mighty and Merciful God, help us to remember how precious we are in your sight and to refrain from undermining our worth or the worth of others by comparing ourselves to one another. It is because we are different that each of us is special. Make us a people who are grateful for the mercy we have received and who in thanksgiving pour out the abundance of love that you shower upon us. Make us people who are open at both ends of the channel so that your life might flow through us. Strengthen and renew us in the faith of Christ. Amen.
