Opening Prayer
We come, because we seek our God. Every morning, every day, every evening, every moment, God is with us. We come, because we hunger for Christ. Jesus will feed us with hope, will replace our emptiness with grace. We come, because we thirst for the Spirit. Who fills our yearning for peace, who ends the drought of justice. Let us worship God this day.
Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, you sent Jesus among us to be our way, our truth and our life. We confess our reluctance to always follow where he leads. It’s easy to seek our own way and to believe our own truths. Too often we can pursue a life of comfort and ease, instead of a life of sacrifice and service. Forgive us, we pray. Pull us out of ourselves. Enable us to live as those who in following your Son, also obtain a life filled with purpose and joy. Help us to stand under your mercy, and open to your grace. In Christ, we pray. Amen
