Opening Prayer
Spirit of the living God, though we are many, we have come together with one purpose—to worship you with scripture and song, with silence and sacrament. We witness that we are members of one another and wait for your word spoken clearly in our midst. May your presence be among us in this hour: touch us with tenderness, brush us with ecstasy, strengthen us into commitment, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
Prayer of Confession
Gracious and Loving God, you call us to love one another as you love us, and to let your Spirit guide, and your word lead us each day. We confess that we do not always open our lives to you and through you, to one another. We so often act as if we are alone, as if there was nowhere to turn. Forgive us God. Heal our broken hearts, unite our broken families, and mend our broken world. Amen.
